I joined in May 2026 as the Director of Finance and Operations, focusing on the strategic financial management of the firm while also overseeing human resources and administrative operations.
Dina earned an AB in History from Bryn Mawr College and an MBA from Boston College. She is currently working toward completing the Level 1 coaching program through Erickson International. After completing her coaching hours, she plans to sit for the ICF, International Coaching Federation, ACC designation.
Dina lives in Somerville, MA. Outside of work, she enjoys trying new recipes in the kitchen, walking or running on the community bike path, reading, traveling, especially to the UK and Europe, knitting, and playing the piano after a long hiatus.
Dina is also a board member of Community Cooks, a Somerville-based nonprofit that mobilizes volunteer teams to provide home-prepared meals for neighbors throughout Greater Boston by partnering with local service agencies. She first started volunteering while at Boston College, cooking on a team that prepared a meal for a halfway house supporting men with substance abuse disorder. From there, she became a team leader and later a board member.
Fun fact: Dina went to culinary school after college and earned an AOS in Culinary Arts from the California Culinary Academy, though she tends to leave that credential out of her professional bios. She worked as a pastry chef before switching to the finance and HR side of restaurants. She completed her school externship at Restaurant Daniel in New York City and later completed a one-month internship at a Michelin-starred restaurant in the Loire Valley of France.
She is also passionate about whisky. She started a whisky tasting group, led several whisky tastings at Commonwealth, and organized a trip to Kentucky where the group bought a barrel of bourbon from New Riff Distilling.
Dina spent almost two decades working in finance and HR roles in small businesses, primarily restaurants. In 2020, she switched gears and joined Commonwealth Financial Network as a Practice Management Consultant, providing business consulting services to affiliated advisors. Over time, her role evolved to specialize in working with large enterprise firms, helping them build scalable, enduring businesses.
Her consulting work focused on business structure, compensation systems, financial management, and career and development pathways. She also regularly presented as part of Commonwealth’s advisor development programs and conferences and wrote articles for both internal and external industry publications.
While Dina does not work directly with clients, she hopes to impact their lives by helping create an environment where the firm can continue to recruit and develop the talented people who do. She was initially drawn to Commonwealth because she wanted to share her experience and expertise to help advisors run better businesses. Now, she is excited to put that experience into practice at Altara and help ensure the firm has a strong foundation.
We’re here to help make sure it does.
